There are only 2 turns after you exit the highway. Alarka Road and Deep Creek Road. These two roads are state roads and in fine condition. The driveway is on the steeper side and has two switchbacks. Any car can make it up. People often think they need momentum and spin their tires. Slow and steady, low gear if needed is best. Any front wheel, all wheel, or 4 wheel drive vehicle can make it up.

I would not recommend a low sports car.

Calling over the wifi works flawless. In terms of data service, I get 1 bar at best with Verizon. Others seem to have better success. But as long as your within range of the wifi you have no problem making calls or sending texts.

While the area does tend to get snow over the winter, how much or when is unpredictable. In the past 3 years we have only had 1 significant snow storm. In most cases its a dusting to an inch or so. The driveway is only plowed about halfway up and not always the quickest to be done. Though it often melts in a day, winter travelers are advised to be prepared incase they have to stay or leave a day early. If a significant storm is coming, I will also allow guests to reschedule. You can not reschedule because it did not snow.
